Worker Share CSA:

A worker share is a labor exchange for a CSA share which includes a weekly supply of vegetables, berries, eggs, and chicken.  A worker’s share is a commitment of 4 hours a week working on the farm helping produce the food grown on our farm.  Our hours are flexible, but arranged for 4 hours each week in exchange for a CSA Share. 

This gives Work Share members an opportunity to be a part of the food they produce, and have the opportunity to high quality delicious food while learning how it’s grown and produced.  The work can be very demanding.  As an organic farm, there is a lot of weeding, harvesting, planting which involves a lot of walking, kneeling, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, roto tilling, and mulching.  To us, this is the most rewarding work by enjoying working outside in nature.  We even dance in the fields with our ipods –in overalls singing as loud as we can!  Heck, only the animal hear us and they run too!

Farm Help

Garlic Harvester/Cleaner

What we need are 3 more people to work on May 8^th, May 15^th, June 26^th, July 5^th, July 6^th, July 7^th, July 8^th, and August 14^th.  These dates could change due to weather, and a few more days could be added if you’re available. The hours would be 8am to 4pm with a ½ hour unpaid lunch break.  The duties would be: weeding, planting, picking garlic scapes, harvesting garlic, and prepping garlic for sale.  It’s all physical work and can be very demanding, but it is nice working outside.    There is a lot of standing, kneeling, bending, carrying, and walking during the entire day.  The pay is $7.25/hr.  We don’t have an age is not a qualification just an ability to do the work.

I would recommend bringing a water bottle, lunch, hat, suntan lotion, good shoes, and clothes that can get dirty.  We provide gloves and other necessary tools.
