Who We Are

14 years ago, we purchased 40 beautiful acres in the rural outskirts of Madison, WI.  We both had dreams of living in the country on a farm and raising a family.   Although we loved our professional careers, we still were drawn to the love of our land and planting and growing everything we could.  On the weekends, we would wake up and say what project are we going to work on today… planting fruit or Christmas trees, harvesting and canning tomatoes with the kids, picking and eating strawberries, planting the garden, building this or that, etc…  This became what we call fun.  Thus, with our beliefs of “do no harm” to our land and treasure all the natural wildlife and natural ecosystem, our beliefs brought us to becoming a Certified Organic Farm. 

Why Organic? 

As a Certified Organic farm, our farm is consistently reviewed by an organic certifying company (MOSA). All that we produce is review by MOSA, so you have a third party making sure that not only are we following the organic standards, but that every input into our farm reviewed and approved for use. They are looking at our seed sources, soil management, ecosystem, food handling safety, and all inputs from seed to fertilizers, etc. This ensures our customers that their food or soil has not been sprayed with chemicals, and they are not eating GMO's. Although our eggs and chickens are not certified organic, we do raise them organically on our farm and do not use medication, antibiotics, or other chemicals.

We understand the cost is higher to produce organic food. We try to grow food for our customers as efficiently as possible, but we are NOT and will never be a factory farm. We have high quality standards to produce the safest, freshest, and humanly raised food that can be ethically enjoyed while providing the highest quality of nutrition.

We follow and exceed organic standards. We have taken post harvest and food safety classes to bring you high quality and safe food. We are licensed by the State of Wisconsin to produce products in our food processing plant, for eggs, and for properly producing meat chickens thus following state statutes and all rules and regulations. We are always continuing our education on new and innovative ways of farming to bring our customers the best food possible. Most of all, we love to teach what we have learned to our customers who are much more interested in where their food comes from.

Our Commitment to our customers and Mother Earth:

We are committed to growing the best tasting food from from properly managed soils, and we taste test it all ourselves to make sure it makes our cut. 

 If we don’t love it, we don’t sell it! 

We also believe that if it is not good enough to feed it to our kids, we won’t feed it to yours!
